A machine to coat pills or sweets and to produce tiny sweets called nonpareil is fitted with a conveyor for the material with a deflector at the discharge end. The material is returned over a run-off tube with slots for hot or cold air to the trought at the charging end of the conveyor. This reduces the time required for the operation to be completed in the machine (moisture extraction or cooling) and makes it possible to produce nonpareil continuously.
