When the table-top is at table level it is supported on the one side by a leg which is rotatably fixed by a bearing on the table-top and by a bearing on the ground. The other side is connected to the wall by a detachable bolt. On releasing this bolt the table-top which is guided by the leg can be easily swivelled onto the bed chest or up to the wall. So that the free end of the table-top is more stable to resist any load exerted by a user a swivel support can be attached to the underneath of the table-top to engage in the leg when the table-top is in use.
