The antenna exciter has a coaxial feed line to its symmetrising device which consists of two quarter wavelength slits (2a, 2b) arranged on either side one behind the other. In the middle of the slots the inner conductor (1b) is connected effectively to the outer conductor (1a) via a coupling pin (3). Pref. their connection is galvanic and it may form a capacitive short circuit (4). The symmetrising device may be surrounded by a radiation dish (6), whose bottom (6a) may have a specified distance from the centre of the symmetrising device, e.g. a quarter wavelength of the waveguide. The length of the radiation dish is so rated that its edge covers at least the rear slit (2d). Inside the dish may be arranged adjustment studs (7).
