PURPOSE:To obtain an accurate inspection record at low cost by cleaning a material to be detected and coating its inspection surface with a penetrant, bringing a developing belt piece into contact for a specific time after the cleaning treatment and then peeling it, and fixing a transferred image. CONSTITUTION:The inspection surface 1 is coated with the penetrant 2 with a brush, etc., and the liquid 2 is wiped off the surface 1 with cloth impregnated with a cleaning solvent after the liquid 2 penetrates a flaw 3. Then, the developing belt piece 7 coated with a developer 4 obtained by suspending white particulates such as bentonite powder in alcohol is held in contact with the surface 1 for a specific time long enough to evaporate the alcohol and then peeled off. The developer 4 in the developing belt piece 7 absorbs and diffuses the liquid 4 in the flaw 3 to form a pattern 8. The pattern 8 which is transferred to the developing piece 7 after peeling off, is fixed with transparent lacquer, etc. Consequently, the inspecting operation is facilitated and a material having resolution superior to a photograph is obtained. |
