<p>The pump has a rotor with a diametrical bore in which two pistons reciprocate radially. A longitudinal bore between them forms the pumping chamber and had radial bores connecting with the inlet and discharge passages. The outer ends of the pistons have shoes which carry rollers which run on a cam on the inside of the casing. This produces the reciprocating action. The cam has a cam profile with a stop ring on the inside of it. The stop ring (32) is formed of a series of separate circumferential sections (34). The sections are joined by flexible pieces (36). This enables the sections to move radially inwards as the cam profle is rotated to vary the stroke in a reliable manner.</p> |
