The invention relates to a household appliance, in particular a kitchen machine, having a toothed-wheel gearing comprising a gearing casing and at least one toothed wheel mounted therein. In this arrangement, the object to be achieved is that of reducing the production expenditure and the weight in the case of a household appliance of this type. To achieve this object, it is proposed that for the bearing of the toothed wheel (10, 18, 22, 34; 80; 96) its tooth tips (84) have sliding faces. The toothed wheel is preferably a spur wheel, the sliding faces of the tooth tips forming a part of a plain bearing. The inner-wall face of an outer wall (52, 62) of the gearing casing can serve as the thrust bearing.
