PURPOSE:To impart a large C/N value, to increase regeneration power because of a sharp recording threshold value and to enhance sensitivity by forming a recording layer from a layer containing an org. dye and an organopolysiloxane resin layer formed by condensing difunctional silane and trifunctional silane. CONSTITUTION:The org. dye usable in an optical recording medium has absorption and reflection in the oscillation wavelength region of semiconductor laser and an aromatic or unsaturated aliphatic dithiol metal complex type color is designated. The resin used in a condensed organopolysiloxane resin layer is composed of an organopolysiloxane resin obtained by condensing difunctional silane represented by R<1>R<2>Si(OR<3>)2-n(X)n and trifunctional silane represented by R<4>Si(OR<5>)3-m(X)m (wherein R<1>, R<2>, R<3> R<4> and R<5> are an alkyl group or an aryl group, X is a hydroxyl group or halogen, n is 0, 1 or 2 and m is 0, 1, 2 or 3). In order to form a recording layer by coating, a dye solution is brought into contact with a substrate to fix the org. dye to the substrate at first and subsequently applying a solution consisting of difunctional silane and trifunctional silane to the fixed org. dye layer to form the condensed organopolysiloxane resin layer. |
