The plant comprises a supply channel for incoming liq. to be filtered and a quite separate discharge channel for filtrate. A filter screen is located so that liq. is passed through the screen as it is transferred from the supply channel to the discharge channel. The liq. is pref. gravity fed on to and through the filter screen which delivers retained solid impurities into an area separate from the filtrate discharge channel. An overflowing header tank pref. delivers liq. on to filter screen. The filter screen is pref. in the form of mesh band, e.g. in stainless steel, which advances continuously to present freshly cleaned screening area to incoming liq. Used for industrial rough filtration to remove suspended solids from a liq., partic. from industrial effluent and waste water prior to purificn. treatment. The installation is of simple, inexpensive construction and offers reliable, trouble-free operation. The screen is self cleaning so that a high throughput can be maintained indefinitely. |
