Pest control for places difficult of access e.g. tree-tops - by using container dropped from aircraft or fired from ground to release chemicals from target area

Pest control for regions difficult of access is carried out by dropping a chemical container from an aircraft or firing a chemical load in a projectile. The insecticide and/or germicide is released from the container on impact and therefore spreads itself from a strategic target area without too much dependence upon prevailing wind and weather conditions. The release can be by time-delay fuse, r.f. remote control etc. The chemical can be released as a coloured cloud suitable for photographing so that its propagation can be ascertained. In the ground firing version, the container (2) is positioned in a mortar pipe (1) on top of a firing charge (3). The latter (3) is fired by a fuse (4) connected by cable (5) to the initiating control (6).
