PURPOSE:To execute a transaction by on-line without installing a special terminal equipment, by providing a center part for transmitting a data signal generated by a sound pressure from the sounding body of a portable medium, decoding the transaction contents and executing a transaction processing. CONSTITUTION:A portable medium such as an IC card is provided with a sound pressure generating means for outputting a bit of transaction information by a sound pressure, and a sound pressure data generated by this sound pressure generating means is transmitted to a telephone circuit through the mouthpiece of a telephone set 2. The transaction information transmitted through the telephone circuit is received by the host computer 10 of a credit company and processed. Therefore, at the time of transaction, such transaction information as the amount of money, etc. is inputted to a portable medium through a key provided on the portable medium. Thereafter, the sounding body of the portable medium is allowed to abut on the mouthpiece of the telephone set, and the transaction information is transmitted by the sound pressure to the host computer through the telephone circuit.
