Tandem seismic vibration metering chain - facilitates colour coded guidance in connections to extensive chain

The tandem system for vibration meters in seismic work has a number of parallel signal inputs, with a number of vibration meters connected by a cable with provision for further connections to its ends has a central section (50) with N+1 conductors and a set of vibration meters (51) where N is a positive even number greater than two. A selection of the N+1 conductors is connected at both ends to N/2 cable tapping sections (55, 56) provided with N/2 hermaphrodite couplings (30, 31) colour coded to facilitate connections. The arrangement facilitates the connection and disconnection of vibration meters in an extended chain covering a wide area.
