Method consists of collecting the vapours and passing them through a chamber contg. a bed of granulated catalyst above a perforated inlet plate and below a perforated outlet plate. The pumped flow of the vapour through the chamber fluidises the granulate so that the ozone is removed from the vapours by contact with the granulate in a fluidised bed. Used for ensuring a low level of ozone discharged to atmos. in accordance with stringent modern regulations. Partic. for an electrostatographic machine. The catalytic bed does not become easily clogged like fibrous filters, with toner powder, paper dust, etc. |
