The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition for controlled release of an active agent in the intestinal tract comprisingi) a pharmacologically active agent selected from the group of arylalkanolamines and aryloxyalkanolamines, and ii) a physiologically tolerable anionic surfactant selected from the group of mono-sulphuric acid esters of higher fatty alcohols.
