Bearing assembly has axial pre-loading of the radial-load ball-bearing which it incorporates by means of pressure spring acting between the races, the amount of movement effected by the spring being limited. The inner races (10, 10') are fixed in the axial position on the shaft (3) and rigidly coupled together. One of the outer spaces (11') is fixed rigidly in the bore (12), while the other (11) slides in the latter and is spring-loaded. The inner races can bear against a rigid sleeve (7) between them, being held on the shaft by coaxial screws (4). The fixed outer race can be glued in position in a bearing tube (13), in which the other is a close fit. |
