An arrangement is used to produce a motive force for the movement of a body in a liquid or gas shaped medium enclosing it. The arrangement includes the division of the surface of the body into two zones where a strongly diverging relative movement in respect of the medium exists. The body is made as a hollow body in which a vacuum is created which has a first surface zone to be rotated at a sufficiently high speed in relation to the surrounding medium and which has a second zone where the rotation movement takes place in relation to the medium at a considerably slower speed or where it is stopped altogether.
