Sports track covering, with the embedded mesh being three-dimensional and pref. thicker than the length of a shoe spike, and with the strips or wires running transversely of each other and pref. of metal or plastics. Pref. the mesh is bound by knots, each comprising three interlocked strips or wires. The covering is suitable for indoor or outdoor stadiums and has low shoe to track friction and improved durability.
