A valve arrangement used for connecting one side of a hydraulic device to a pump for supplying hydraulic fluid comprises a stationary valve housing and a slide member (21) rotatably mounted therein. The slide member is in the form of a cylinder having a cavity (30) with closed end walls. The slide member is mounted only hydraulically in the valve housing. Thus, the valve arrangement has no mechanical bearings. The circumferential surface of the cylinder has openings (32-34) through which the cavity is connectible to the pump and an optional side of the hydraulic device. At each of the end walls of the slide member, there are provided spaces (28) communicating with the low-pressure side of the hydraulic system. The pressure in the spaces at the two end walls is equal. The slide member is statically hydraulically balanced in both the radial and the axial direction. |
