An electrical interlock for a microwave oven door consists of a first pair of widely spaced electrical contacts which connect into the oven circuit and which are supportedf from the oven frame along the edge opposite the door hinge, and a second pair of serially connected contacts on the door positioned to contact the first pair of contacts when the door is closed. The arrangement makes it difficult to jump the interlock, and is also effective when the frame or door is warped. Preferably the contacts form part of a low voltage portion of the oven circuit, and the second pair of electrical contacts may be electrically connected through the door gasket.
|
