PURPOSE:To raise the temperature of a pressure roller to specific temperature under simple control at the time of fixation, to prevent a defect in fixation, and to prevent the service life of the roller from becoming short by detecting the opening or closing of a document pressure plate and rotating a fixing roller for a constant time. CONSTITUTION:A microswitch 21 which is operated by the opening or closing of the document pressure plate is provided at the position where a document is pressed by the document pressure plate at the side part of contact glass where the document is mounted, and an opening or closing detection signal is inputted to a CPU 23; and a fixation motor 24 is started and stopped and the fixing roller 2 is placed in preliminary rotation for the constant time through a timer 30. Consequently, heat is conducted from the fixing roller 2 to the pressure roller 3, the fixing roller 2 is heated by a heater to rises in temperature to the specific proper temperature for the fixation. |
