PURPOSE:To improve the adhesion of a molded resin article to a coating layer formed by electroless plating, coating, etc., by grinding the surface of a molded resin article having a surface layer consisting of a resin and foamed particles in a specified vol. ratio and thereby exposing rupture cross sections of the particles to the outside. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a molded resin article having a surface layer consisting of 100 pts.vol. resin (e.g. an epoxy resin) and 5-1000 pts.vol. foamed particles (e.g. Sirasu baloon) is ground mechanically to expose rupture cross sections of the particles to the outside. Instead of grinding, the surface may be chemically etched, e.g. by chromic acid, or the particles present in the surface layer may be blown by heating to form minute cracks on the surface. Thus, a coating layer can be formed on the surface with an excellent adhesion by electroless plating, coating, etc. |
