The control switch has a hinge coupled switching lever in a switch housing and which is used on motor vehicles. The lever is kept in the neutral centre position by means of a spring element. It will engage contacts in the housing when it is swivelled sideways against the action of the spring element. The switching lever (12) has a conducting section (17) at the end (12a) inside the housing. The lever protrudes from a hole (15) in the cover plate (16) of the housing (11). The conducting section has a rectangular contact surface (18) with the cover plate. Contact is provided by means of a pressure coil spring (14) concentrically mounted around the lever. The coil spring will be stretched between the conducting section and a support surface (19) in the housing.
