Ski for making sharp turns - has side flanges which also prevent skis becoming crossed over each other

Ski designed to be more easily controlled when turning has a small flange(3) with a curved profile which projects upwards to form the inner edge of each ski(1). This flange(3) is positioned behind the heel of the ski boot(2). A second smaller flange(17) is formed also on the inner edge near the front end. Both front and rear ends of the ski are rounded and turned slightly upwards. These flanges(3, 17) have a dual function in that they make it easier for the skier to execute a sharp turn and in addition they prevent the ski from becoming crossed one over the other. The ski are suitable for use on deep snow.
