Mono-ski with automatic release binding - has spring loaded balls which engage recesses in heel of boot

Safety binding automatically releases the ski-boot on receiving an excessive shock and consists of two blocks(1, 2) with flat extensions. Each block has an axial hole which contains a ball(3, 4) loaded by springs(7, 8) so that part of the ball projects from the hole. The blocks(1, 2) are fixed to the mono-ski by screws which pass through slotted holes to allow for positional adjustment. The ski-boot has two recesses in the back of the heel which engage the balls(3, 4) and hold the boot onto the ski. The force of the spring(7, 8) can be adjusted by screwed plugs(11, 12) which abut against the ends of the springs.
