A tool to open the foil caps of pharmaceutical bottles which have a central nick for a planned breaking circle consists of a small block pref. of PVC or polypropylene in the shape of a truncated cone. Its base has three circular recesses to suit the three most popular bottle sizes. The centre of each recess has a pin of slightly less height than the depth of the recess. This facilitates the opening of foil caps on bottles containing injection or infusion fluids. It is easy to operate and ensures a hygienic opening of such bottles.
