The seed drill has a frame and shares which are connected with rollers and can move freely within a given region in the vertical plane. In front of the shares are cutter ploughs which are acted upon by an addition force. The shares (5) are alternately arranged in two transverse rows (10, 11). A roller (12) rolls on the soil at a lateral spacing (11) near the centre line (14) drawn through the appropriate share (9) in the direction of travel (4). The cutter ploughs (15) can be moved in the vertical plane independently of the shares (9). The cutter ploughs (15) are in a row (16) transverse to the direction of travel (4).
