Novel 2-(hydrocarbylphenylsulfonyl)ethyltri-methyl stannanes and a process for preparing same are disclosed. These stannane compounds correspond to the following formula: wherein R' is the same or different and is selected from the group consisting of linear and branched alkyl having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, cycloaliphatic having 4 to 6 carbon atoms and linear and branched alkenyl having 2 to 20 carbon atoms, and n is an integer from 1 to 3. The stannane compounds of this invention exhibit insecticidal properties when employed in insecticidal formulations.
