This bottom comprises a rigid load-bearing floor (1). It is linked to a floatation device (3) which, when the floor is submerged, exhibits an upward thrust which is slightly less than the weight of the floor and of all the elements which are attached to it. A driving device (5) shifts the movable bottom in its vertical movements. In the high position, the movable bottom is located out of the water and forms a floor or surface closing off the swimming pool.
