HF electron beam accelerator - has valve generator with resonant cavity forming half of double tuned circuit in anode circuit

The high frequency electron beam accelerator is used to produce high power ionising beams suited to industrial processes. The accelerator is based upon vacuum chamber (1) with a concentric resonator (2) containing internal projections. The rotational axis of the resonator corresponds to the acceleration path of the electrons from the gun (3). A self exciting valve (4) generator is coupled to a loop in the resonator chamber over an isolating capacitor (6). The resonator, loop and capacitor together form a double tuned circuit in the anode circuit of the valve. Anode supply (11) and heater circuit (10) complete the unit.
