Controlling the oxygen refining of steel - where radionuclide is added to molten steel and used to determine amt. of iron drops in slag
摘要

Parent patent described the control of the refining of crude iron, esp. when using oxygen refining, where the blowing parameters for the supply of O2 are adjusted according to the amt. of drops of iron in the slag. Improvement is that radionuclides are added to the molten iron and amt. of iron drops in measured radiometrically to obtain values(FeR). The values(FeR) obtd. are pref. used to adjust the O2 pressure; the amt. of O2 used w.r.t. time; the exit speed of the O2 at the lance nozzle; and/or the distance of the lance from the melt. The addn. of radionuclides improves the control of the process.
