The drive has a housing to contain a fluid with a torque converter or coupling incorporating an impeller rotating with a drive shaft. A turbine wheel is rotatable by the impeller and a selector comprises two plates between which a friction disc can be tensioned. The friction disc has a friction linings on both sides around its outer circumference, and on its inner circumferences components acting as couplings. A space between the two plates an interconnecting hole in the friction disc, the hole being controlled by a valve (C4) linked to a flexibly deformable arm. The arm extends in an arc over part of the friction disc (18) body (19). Its anchoring end is connected to the disc body at a point where the valve is fitted by a fixture component.
