FIELD: chemical and pharmaceutical industry. SUBSTANCE: preparation is produced by reacting N, N'-dimethyl urea with aqueous glyoxal solution in presence of hydrochloric acid, followed by neutralizing reaction mixture, treating it with diethyl ether, separating aqueous phase, adding chloroform, separating organic phase, distilling off chloroform, reconverting residue to pulpy condition with diethyl ether, filtering and drying residue at room temperature.
