New organic (thio) phosphoric acid ester compounds of the formula <IMAGE> (I) wherein R1 is alkyl of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, cyclohexyl or phenyl, R2 is alkyl of from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, R3 is alkylene of up to 6 carbon atoms, X is oxygen or sulfur, and Y is oxygen or sulfur HAVE BEEN FOUND TO EXHIBIT EXCELLENT HERBICIDAL, PARTICULARLY SELECTIVE HERBICIDAL ACTIVITY.
