<p>The hammer is used for a cement kiln and similar cylinders, to dislodge deposits adhering internally. It comprises an electric motor and reduction gear (2) on a stand (1). This unit drives a crank arm (4) through a ratchet mechanism (3), the hammer weight (7) being attached to the crank by a chain (6). As the crank rotates upwards, it lifts the weight, the chain running between guide wheels (8) and the weight moving in a tube (9). At top dead centre (11), the ratchet releases the weight to fall freely, its padded nose striking the rotary cylinder wall (10).</p> |
