<p>The aim is to limit by chemical intervention air pollution sulphurous odour emissions from raw sewage carrying, pressurised mains. Odours are caused by anaerobic action on some cpds. present in the mains. Odours tend to escape through grills and vents, mostly at effluent lifting pts. and at gullies partly filled by gravitation. The chemical used for deodorizing is NO3. This is produced by in situ nitrification by biological action, in the course of aerobic effluent purification.</p> |
