PURPOSE:To enable the flow velocity at a desired position to be measured at a low cost, by providing on the inner wall of a measuring pipe an electromagnetic flow- rate-meter having a pair of electrodes in the direction perpendicular to that of the magnetic flux generated by a magnetic field coil so that the direction of the electrodes is disposed perpendicular to the direction of flow. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 21 are provided in parallel to the pipe axis of a branch pipe 11 of a measuring pipe 1 made of magnetic material, and arranged so that the direction across said pair of electrodes 21 is perpendicular to the direction of the flow perpendicular to the paper surface. The electrodes 21 are embedded in the branch pipe 11 through insulating bushes 22. A window member 23 of such non- magnetic material as stainless steel is attached to the portion where the branch pipe 11 crosses the inner wall of the measuring pipe 1. An electrical insulating lining 24 is provided outside the window member 23 and the electrodes 21, which are airtightly penetrating therethrough. A magnetic field coil 25 is provided on the inner wall surface of the branch pipe 11 so that the magnetic flux thereof is perpendicular to both direction across the electrodes 21 and the direction of flow. A cap body 26 of magnetic material is provided outside. Thereby, the flow velocity at a desired position can be measured at a low cost. |
