<p>1536413 Providing metallized patterns COMPLISA SA 8 Dec 1975 [9 Dec 1974] 50241/75 Heading B6C [Also in Division B5] A metallized surface having a specular lustre is produced on a support, e.g. of paper, cardboard, paperboard, plastics film or foil, or wood, by providing a sheet material in which a carrier vehicle having a metallic powder dispersed therein is coated on to a backing of plastics material, e.g. polypropylene, polyethylene, polyester, cellulose acetate, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride or regenerated cellulose, depositing a layer of adhesive on the surface of the support or the exposed face of the carrier vehicle on the sheet material, applying the coated face of the sheet material to the surface, allowing the combination to cure at ambient temperature and separating the backing from the cured combination to reveal the layer containing the metallic particles. The adhesive may be applied to selected zones of the surface of the support so that the metallic particles are transformed only to such selected zones. The metallic coating produced on the support may have a thickness of less than one micron.</p> |
