<p>The collector assembly, for a motor vehicle alternator, has the bared ends of the induction winding output wires wedged parallel to the shaft axis between an insulating ring and a conducting sleeve. The assembly is then aligned concentric with the shaft. The insulating ring consists of two parts. One part is a plain ring and the other a ring with a flange. The ends of the wires pass first between the shaft and flanged ring; they are then bent up to pass between the ends of the two rings and finally bent over so that when the sleeve is slipped into place they lie between it and the flanged ring.</p> |
