The agents contain up to 70 wt. % of an inert carrier. Whenacetic and dehydraoacetic acids are used, their ratio is pref. 1:0.005 - 10.1 w/w. When acetic and fumaric acids are used, their ratio is pref. 1:0.1 - 1:10 w/w. Ensilaging agents are added to greenstuff when loadin gintot he silo so as to control the silage process to prevent the growth of undesired bacteria and promote the growth of the desired lactic bacteria. Addn. of dehydroacetic and/or fumaric acid suppresses sec. fermentation, so that a prod. of beter quality (with reduced odour) is obtd. |
