Damaged feed troughs in barns are lined by inserting elastic elements (5) into the existing feed trough (4). In order to attain a lining which has the highest possible degree of resistance, the element (5) is produced from a glass-fibre-reinforced polyester with an incorporated fabric layer. The elements (5) are fastened on the trough wall by means of screws. Connecting pieces (10) which are laid beneath the joint and are previously coated with a sealing composition (11) are provided in order to connect the individual elements (5) accurately to one another. It is particularly advantageous that the longitudinal edges of the elements (5) can be pressed on the trough wall by means of an aluminium rail (12). <IMAGE>
