<p>The design of the top part of a car door and the edge of the car roof against which it abuts is intended to give improved visibility and a neater appearance, with the welds concealed from view. The top part (15) of the door(1) is extended higher than that of a conventional door, and slopes inwards, completely covering the rain gutter (11). The edge of the car roof (6) behind it, has a stepped part (7, 8), with the gutter beyond it. In addition to a conventional sealing strip (21) behind the inner edge (2) of the door, there is an additional sealing strip (16) fitted onto the outside part (17) of the gutter. When the door is closed, the inwardly sloping top part is then pressed against this strip, giving an improved seal.</p> |
