The spherical container for gases or liquids is mounted on a foundation (3, 4) which is arranged in the region of the vertical axis of the container. A support layer (2) consisting of a material with elastomeric properties is arranged between the spherical container (1) and the foundation (3, 4) and firmly connected to the two parts. The support layer (2) comprises a mat which exhibits pegs (2') which are distributed at unit spacing, project out from the mat surface and have widened heads which are anchored in the foundation. Its purpose is to provide protection from structural vibrations. The support layer (2) is adhesively bonded onto the spherical container casing (1). Thereafter, the spherical container casing (1) is positioned by means of an auxiliary scaffold (6). The foundation upper part (3) is subsequently concreted and, finally, the auxiliary scaffold (6) is removed. <IMAGE>
