The suction conveyor belt has a number of continuously running belts supplied with a vacuum and acting from above to transport individual sheets to a stack. These sheets are parted off from a strip of delivered directly from a printing machine etc. The suction passages (4) are at least as long as the largest sheet to be handled, and are divided into individual sections (3, 14, 15, 16) to suit the various standard sheet lengths.
