PURPOSE: To convey documents having various thicknesses by attaching an arm on a rotational part so as to move the rotational part of a moving means in the opposite direction along an approximately perpendicular line in relation to a document track in rotating of the moving means, and providing an actuator for moving an idler wheel to the operating position against an elastic means. CONSTITUTION: An idler wheel arm 56 is rotated around a pin 64 by excitation of a solenoid 60 against energizing force of a compression spring 74, an idler wheel 14 is moved toward a document 32, and the document 32 is pinched and conveyed between the idler wheel 14 and a drive wheel 12. In this case, if the document 32 is thick, there is a clearance between the pin 64 and the inside diameter 70 of the idler wheel arm 56, and therefore, this arm 56 can be floated. Therefore, even if the idler wheel 14 and the drive wheel 12 are worn, pressure of the idler wheel 14 to be applied to the document 32 is always kept constant, and the document 32 can be stably conveyed regardless of the thickness without being damaged. |
