The equipment recovers all kinds of bodies floating on the water surface, and travels over the water in all directions. It has a central hydraulic power station supplying the hydraulic propulsion motors and those driving the rolling carpet. The latter can be arranged to brush against an inclined perforated plate, driving the floating bodies into the collector tank. The brush carpet can be replaced by a steel roller blind running over the surface to pick up all the soils, which are removed from it by a rubber scraper, dropping them into a sealed collector tank. Speed and direction of rotation of the carpet and of the two propellers can be varied from the helmsman's position.
