PURPOSE:To simply and efficiently remove the excess developing liquid from an electrostatic latent image carrier after the development without disturbing the visual image by removing it to an excess liquid removing member which is arranged to face the carrier and which has such a surface as has its contact angle with the developing liquid than that of the carrier.
