A wound electrolytic capacitor uses a dielectric foil with a negative temp. coefficient for both the permittivity and conductivity. There is one dielectric foil bounded on both sides by conducting foils. The foils are separated by spacers. The annular spaces (4) between the dielectric foil (3) and the conducting foils (1, 2) vary relative to their values at room temp. when the foils are heated. The change in the width of these spaces at the max. operating temp. is greater than or equal to the increase in the thickness of the foils. The annular space is filled with air.
