1533988 Folding and stacking sheets SIMON CONTAINER MACHINERY Ltd 11 June 1976 [16 Sept 1975] 37947/75 Heading B8R [Also in Division B5] A folding machine for converting blanks into collapsed cases but in which blank folding devices (not shown) can be rendered inoperative comprises an auxiliary conveyer 35 which is movable to an inclined position with its input end located between transversely spaced conveying bands 10, (11) Fig. 2 (not shown) for moving the blanks through the machine so as to divert unfolded blanks towards a stacking table 49. The auxiliary conveyer 35 is pivotally supported at 47 and can be raised and lowered by a hoist cable 50. The auxiliary conveyer comprises transversely spaced, driven conveyer bands 40, (41), Fig. 2 (not shown) which are supported by lower rails 42, 43 and against which blanks are urged by spring-loaded rollers in upper rails 44 (45), Fig. 2 (not shown). The first mentioned conveying bands 10, (11) are likewise supported by lower rails (12), 13, Fig. 1 (not shown) and have blanks urged thereagainst by spring-loaded rollers in upper rails 14, (15), Fig. 2 (not shown). The folding devices comprise rising bars and twisted belts. |
