METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DYNAMICALLY MEASURING BRAKE FORCES

Dynamic brake force measuring means comprising a brake mechanism having a braking block. The braking block has a measuring member fixed to it at selected positions. The measuring member has two elastically deformable sections extending from the positions where it is fixed to the braking block. These deformable sections are responsive to brake forces transmitted to them and deform in different directions to signify radial and tangential brake forces. Separate strain gauges on the sections provide a measure of these forces.
