The formwork and reinforcement grid for the concreting of a tunnel wall consists of a combination of a wide-mesh grid (8) with a close-mesh grid (2) so that the close-mesh grid is protected by the wide-grid. The mesh width of the close-mesh grid is less than 12 mm, while that of the wide-mesh grid is in the order of magnitude of 100 mm. The fine-mesh grid is held between the crossing longitudinal and cross bars (4, 6) of the wide-mesh grid. The grid can be manufactured very cheaply and has an excellent formwork and reinforcement effect. The marginal ends (10, 12) of the longitudinal and cross bars (4, 6) project freely beyond the fine-mesh grid (2) and enable individual grid elements to be easily connected to one another to form a structure of large area. <IMAGE>
