The cooling arrangement is particularly intended for a centrifugal blower comprising a housing (1) and a drive shaft (4) extending into the inlet region of the housing and carrying an impeller (3) on a hub (8). The hub surrounds the shaft and is provided wih ducts (9) which, at least under certain operational conditions, connect the atmosphere outside with the inside of the housing. The ducts extend axially through the hub and are circumferentially equi-spaced. The hub fully screens the shaft from the inside of the housing and extends outside the duct ends communicating with the housing interior may be closed by fusible plugs. |
